Busy Saturday

We had a very busy Saturday!

We started the day early by going to the Farmer's Market.

Sarah enjoying some Roasted Almonds
She didn't make it to far before she needed food, about 3 booths in...

The almonds were tasty.

After a nice nap, we used our newly fixed grill to enjoy some Hot dogs and Hamburgers

Can you tell John just woke up?

Sarah enjoying the weather while John grills.
Look at that baby bump!

Then we went out and did some gardening.

Yes, those are 2 tomatoes already growing!

John watering the garden.

All this made for a pretty busy day, Sarah also got a movie in during the afternoon as well.
This will probably make for a lot laying on the couch today for Sarah!

24 Weeks baby bump!

The picture doesn't really do her justice.
She's definitely bigger then she looks in this picture!

24 Week Doctor Appointment

Sarah had her 24 week appointment the other day.  This appointment was with Sarah's OBGYN.  This was the first appointment that she had that she didn't have an ultrasound.  So really there's not much news here.

The doctor was able to feel her stomach and tell us how the babies were laying.  It was crazy how easily he could feel where the babies were.  He then took the babies heart rates.  They were very close to each other but because it wasn't an ultrasound they weren't precise.  Baby A's heart rate was 150ish and Baby B was 145ish.

So not much news here from this appointment, hopefully more news next week!

Chocolate

We ate at Cheesecake Factory the other day for lunch.  It was really nice to sit down and we shared some appetizers together.  We were getting some cheesecake to go and Sarah couldn't decide what kind of cheesecake she wanted.  So we left there with 3 slices of cheesecake.

1 for John.
1 for Sarah.
And 1 "to Share"

Sarah actually wanted Chocolate so got a slice of Godiva Chocolate Cheesecake.  Sarah doesn't really like chocolate so this was a bit strange.

She apparently enjoyed it.

Week 23 Dr. Appointment

We had another Dr. Appointment this week and another ultrasound.  This makes 6 ultrasounds now.
We got to see the babies once again, they were moving around like crazy as usual.
Besides that not much else really changed.
Their blood flow and heart rates are good.
Because it was only 13 days since the last appointment, instead of 14 days, they don't take full measurements like the weight.
Really, 1 day makes that kind of difference?
So we'll have to go to the OBGYN this upcoming week for another checkup.

The doctor thinks now at 26 weeks Sarah will be admitted to the hospital for monitoring of the babies. They seem surprised that she can still work now.  Tweet This

Guess What

Guess what we got this past week...

Sarah's favorite restaurant

Tonight we went to what has become Sarah's favorite restaurant, Five Guys.  They have big cheeseburgers that she loves.

Appetizer

Burger
Just the way she likes it, 2 patties, cheese, pickles, lettuce, tomato, ketchup, mustard and mayo.

We've been going here at least weekly recently since burger's have been at the top of Sarah's food cravings list.

Can you see how excited she is about having her burger?

Cooking Lunch

While Rosie and Lisa were here this weekend, I made some lunch while they cleaned.
I figured that I should do something....

I do get really tired easily though.  So I had to take a small break while I was cooking....

So I had to pull the stool up to sit while I made the salad.

And the finished casserole

It tastes better then it looks...

So our menu was:

Tatter Tot Casserole
Fresh Tomatoes
Carrots and Celery with Veggie Dip
Spinach Salad with Strawberries and Balsamic
and Cottage Cheese

This Weekend

This weekend my Mom and Sister came down to help out around the house.  They did all kinds of cleaning that I can't do right now.  They cleaned the windows, picked up sticks outside, and cleaned the carpet.  I really appreciate the help!

We even went and got my favorite food right now.....

Cheeseburgers from Five Guys!
(We keep forgetting the camera when we go there)

Lisa after working hard
(Don't worry, she said we could use her photo:)

Thanks for the help!

21 week appointment

Sarah had a 21 week checkup with the peri doctor yesterday.  She had another ultrasound to check on the babies.  Yes- for those counting, this was ultrasound #5.  The babies are big enough now that you can't really get a good view of them, so it takes away some of that fun.

The doctor said that he couldn't be happier with the way the babies are progressing.  He seemed very surprised at how good they're doing.  They are "perfect considering their circumstance."  This was good news.

So we got the basic information, the weight, heart rate, and they did the normal measurements.  They also listened to the blood flow to the babies from the umbilical cord and they were pretty much identical with great blood flow.

The doctor said that typically for 1 baby the target weight at 22 weeks is 1 lb.  When they weighed our girls at 21 weeks they were 1 lb each!  So they're doing great.  I guess they're enjoying the cheeseburgers that Sarah's been eating.

Things are going so well we don't have to go back for 2 weeks.  We were quiet pleased with the appointment results.

Highlights
Baby A
Weight - 1 lb (445 grams)
Heart rate - 161

Baby B
Weight - 1 lb (451 grams)
Heart rate - 161

So they're pretty much identical in size and heart rate!

Thank you Lisa!

So when I got home today, John said we have a package from my friend Lisa.  So we opened it and found this...

How cute!  Two stuffed beavers from BVU and a couple of onesies. For future BVU alumni!
Thank you so much Lisa!

Big Mamma Pants

Mother's Day Gift Part 1

Comfy big momma pants – for when I lounge around (which happens a lot now).
Part 1 of my Mother’s Day gift, John started giving me my gifts early, he couldn't wait.
I guess there is some stipulation, if your wife is pregnant on Mothers Day you need to get her a gift.
And I am very okay with this…

This is 21 weeks along.
Do you you like my new pants? I do.

The Garden

One of our favorite things about this time of year is planting the garden!  We worked really hard at it the last 2 years and are really excited about it this year.  We were out planting some veggies today.

We started the seeds several weeks ago in egg cartons and would put them outside when it was nice out...

This was a couple weeks ago

So today we started by planting our lettuce in some "pots"
Ok, they weren't really pots, they were old paint cans that we've washed out and are reusing

We planted the lettuce in the pots because last time we put them in the garden the bunnies ate them thru the fence.
Damn Bunnies!

Then we planted the rest of the veggies in the garden. The tomatoes aren't in yet, those will be next week sometime after we get plants at the farmer's market

So far we've planted Peas, Potatoes, Green Beans, and Edamame...
Edamame is just a fancy word for soy beans that you can eat....

Peas

Edamame

Yet another attempt to keep out the damn bunnies....

Watering the little plants
(can you see her bump there? Well it's definitely there...)

And finally Sarah relaxing after the hard work
(don't worry John didn't let her work to hard)

We'll keep you up to date on the garden for sure!
