6 month checkup

Ada and Evie had their 6 month checkup with the Doctor.
They passed with flying colors!
We kept having to remind the nurses which baby was which.
So here are the stats:

Ada
Weight: 10 lbs 15 1/2 oz
Length: 24 in
Head: 16 3/4 in

Evie
Weight: 10 lbs 9 1/2 oz
Lenth: 24 in
Head 16 1/2 in

Evie is still about 6 oz behind Ada, and has always been 4-6 oz behind.  For their developmental milestones they're doing great.  The doctor said that pretty much they're the size of a 4 month old which they should be because they were premies, but development a 6 month old.  They can't sit up on their own yet, but the doctor said that may take some time since they need to gain weight and muscle first.
So now that we got all the boring stuff I'm sure you want to see some photos.
Be warned though, there's some cute naked babies below!

Sarah putting Ada on the scale

Evie getting weighed

Wow, that's pretty much 11 lbs!

Measuring their length.  Both girls are the same length.
So at what point do you stop measuring length and start measuring height?

My you have a big head!
Evie getting her head measured by the nurse.

The girls love their doctor.  Evie just sat and babbled to the doctor the whole time.  You could tell that he was trying to not laugh at her.  Ada took a little while to warm up to him.  We're pretty happy with the doctor as well.
We'll be back to check in with him in 2 more months.

Difficulties changing diapers

How do you change diaper's when all your baby will do is this:
Yes, it's so darn cute, but makes changing a diaper pretty difficult.
Ada LOVES her feet when she has on socks.  Once you take off the socks, not so interested.  She uses the socks to pull her feet to her mouth.

Yummy!

Once the sock comes off though, she's done with her feet.  She goes straight for the socks.

Ok, so of course we'll have to post a picture of them holding hands since it's been a couple days.  We know how you love to see this...

(Don't feel bad for Evie for not getting her picture up today.  She just was to work harder at being cute :)
JUST KIDDING!)

More cute girls

Since Daddy finally let Mama use his good camera and lens to take pictures of the girls, it's pretty easy to show them off.
It would just be even easier if the girls would cooperate with having their photos taken.  They have an unbelievable ability to turn their head, stop smiling, close their eyes, or other goofy things to throw off the photos.

Evie
Oh my Mama, you are sooo funny!
(We can make great assumptions of what the girls think until they can speak, so we're in no hurry for that)

Ada
She had a HUGE smile right before we took this photo.

Seriously, how can you not call these two goof balls?
Evie and Ada

Is this one step closer to crawling?
Getting our butts up in the air...

Evie is on her tummy CONSTANTLY.
Put her on her back, and over she goes.  She rotates around in circles, tries to scoot around, and rubs her face on the floor.  This makes her cheeks nice and rosy.  Almost looks like she's wearing blush.

Ada looking serious.

Holding hands, of course.

I'm trying to learn sign language.  I think this means more...
Just wait until Mama lets us watch TV to watch our sign language DVD.
She said we have to be at least 6 months old to watch it.  Guess what Mama, we're over 6 months old now!

Sound Sleepers

Or not!
The girls just won't lay still in bed while they sleep.
They toss, turn, scoot, kick, and anything else to move and make noise.

We lay our little angels into bed looking like this:
Ada so peaceful.

Then they commonly look something like this when they wake up:
Evie

Ada

It's not like this is an all night process.  It's a very quick turn around.
Evie was laid down laying straight with her head on the right.

After about 20 minute she looked like this:

Then after 25 more minutes:

Then she looks at you like this:
HA HA!

I suppose there's no surprise that the girls wake up with scratches on their face.

And they look so excited when we wake them up!

Or they just look at you like this, what took you so long!

Teddy Bear Butts

I think about half the pants and sleepers that the girls own have something on the butt!
This must be Carter's way of distracting from the fact of how BIG a diaper makes their butts look!
Sure, they're little but when they lose those diapers their butts are sooo teeny tiny.

We've noticed that people actually look at our blog!
But no one lets us know what they think.  So how about some comments?!?!
I bet that the girls would love it!

Evie wondering why people don't post comments on our blog!

Ada concentrating on looking cute to try to get comments.

Grandma and Grandpa Roberts day 2

Part 2 of Grandma and Grandpa Roberts
Ada and Grandma

Ada in Grandpa's arms

Spending time with Grandpa

Ada with Grandma

How sweet!
Evie was laying down playing and got sleepy, so she just rolled over and went to sleep!

Holding hands with Grandma.
Notice Ada has her Taggie blanket AND her toy.
She tried to get both into her mouth at the same time.

Sitting on the table getting ready for lunch

Evie didn't want to wait for us to finish lunch.  She wanted Grandpa to hold her.

Grandma and Ada

Of course, the holding hands shot!

Notice the extra photos of Ada, this is because Ada didn't want to take a nap.
Evie did.  Ada later ended up taking a 2 hour nap!
To bad that's not the norm.

Grandma and Grandpa Roberts day 1

Grandma and Grandpa Roberts came to visit and stayed the night.  It's been about 2 weeks since we've seen them.  It's safe to say that the girls have changed just a little bit over the last 2 weeks.
Mama takes so many pictures that we have to post them at two different times!

Ada in the morning getting ready for Grandma and Grandpa

Evie showing off tummy time skills.

Mmmm... I love to chew on my toys.  Can you see one of my teeth?

We gave the girls another try in their "be-bop" chairs.
Evie, doing pretty good.

Ada trying to figure out why she's in this chair and not being held.

Trying SO hard to crawl.
Evie is pretty good at moving around in circles.

Grandma and Grandpa made it to Omaha just in time for the girls to get crabby.
They were able to see the girls have their story time and get in some photos.
The girls aren't used to camera flashes, they felt like celebrities being followed by the paparazzi, so they didn't pay much attention to the high quality literature, like "Pajama Time"

The girls were super excited that we had company they didn't want to miss anything.  They started taking turns waking up at 4:30 am.  After eating at 6:30 am, they got back on their usual schedule.

Grandma and Grandpa Roberts got to see the girls wake up and play.
Evie with Grandma in the morning.

Ada
OH MY! We have company still, I better start drooling!

Evie
Notice the big scratch on her face, one of her battle wounds from sleeping.

Evie and Ada chatting during tummy time

Ada rolled over right into Evie.
Evie's response, I will bite your butt!

Ada showing off her "be-bop" chair.  Right after this she decided to try to eat the white part of the seat.

Ada and Grandma playing

Want to see more, I guess you'll have to wait until tomorrow!
